Mary Ann Leavitt

Mary Ann Leavitt is a stumbling block for me (I refuse now to call them brickwalls....)

Mary Ann Leavitt was born about 1811 in England.  

Mary Ann Leavitt married Richard Enoch Stewart on 13 Oct 1840 at Lewiston, Ontario, Canada.

"On the 13th day of October 1840 at the village of Lewiston, Richard Enoch Stewart and Mary Leavitt, both of the township of Niagara, District of Niagara and Province of Upper Canada, were married by me and Rebecca Leavitt and Sarah Bell, both of Lewiston, in the County of Niagara, were present as witnesses at the said marriage."

On the same page we find:

"On the first day of September 1841, at the village of Lewiston, County of Niagara, Henry Leavitt and Elizabeth Wiley, both of the township of Thorold, District of Niagara and Province of Canada, were married by me; and Johnson Parish and Thomas Wiley, also of Thorold, were present as witnesses at the said marriage."

Other researchers indicate she died 21 May 1901 but I notice that Richard is a widower on Apr 10, 1901 during the census.
